Any Ruby programmers in the audience?
I'm starting to screencast some things, partly because I'm thrilled with my nifty new microphone :-)

Also, it's a chance to capture some of my slideshows in a fun way, and it helps me iron out some of my verbal tics.

Anybody feel like listening to me blather about Ruby and Rack for twelve minutes? Or less if you stop it sooner!

audio levels are too low

Thanks! I'll see if there's an easy fix for that. I'm sure there is if I look a bit.

what's Rack? Need more of a teaser ...

That's fair. I'm assuming Ruby web programmers here, which probably makes it not terribly accessible to a more general programming audience, at least until slide 3 or so where I explain it :-/

Ah, I use Ruby but I'm not a web programmer.

I now compare all short, programming language centric screencasts against Gary Berhardt's classic "WAT" talk. That's probably an unfair standard. Though I do think that his style of presenting over at Destroy All Software has a lot going for it.

That *is* a really awesome presentation :-)
