This morning, as I was making breakfast, Shanna looked up at the bottles of various alcohol that we had up on a shelf.

"I'm going to find out if the grown-up drinks are good."

She picked up her toy phone.

"Hi, Aunt Mitty. Are the wines tasty, Aunt Mitty? They are? Okay, tell me when your adventure comes, Aunt Mitty. Good bye!"

That's great. :) Good thing she didn't ask me about the rum, though.

Now I wonder what kind of adventure she thinks I'm going to have...

I was having dinner with a friend last week whose 15mo old LOVES wine. Apparently he was trying to drink some of their wine one time and they figured they would give him a taste and convince him it was yucky so he would stop trying but it turns out he really liked it. They'll sometimes give him a teaspoon or so of it in his water before bed. Helps him sleep :)

When my cousin was 6 months old, my uncle used to let her lick scotch off his fingers.

That's apparently good when kids are teething. It's a local anesthetic.
