I hadn't heard of this guy...  
Here's an article about Fred Karger, which dubs him "the gayest Republican."

He's an openly gay, very pro-gay-rights Republican and former heavyweight campaign manager (think "Karl Rove type") who has just declared that he's running for president in 2012.

We could use a weird campaign. Might help get Obama on the ball, just to know it's coming. I see this guy doing a lot of good all around even if he loses the primaries. Go him.

Unfortunately, I would be very surprised even for the Democrats to let a gay candidate win the primary.

It's fascinating how the Republicans are trying to forward all their minority members. The truth of the matter is, that they'll never get the nomination and they're idiots for wanting to be a member of a party that didn't want them to begin with and doesn't really want them now when you get right down to it.
