Cheddar-flavored yogurt is weird. It seems like it wants to be, I dunno, swirled with beef-flavored yogurt or something.

One of the things that makes me happy about more cooking at home is that we do more random cooking and trying weird variations on stuff. Like, say, when we're out of milk at an inopportune time :-)

Shanna likes cheddar-flavored yogurt. Now we know. And Annie's natural mac'n'cheese recommends it for a reason, though I don't think it'll be our new standard when we do have milk in the house.

Now, logically I know that yogurt (which does not have to be sweet) and cheese are in the same family tree... but the thought of eating cheddar-flavored yogurt makes my tongue curl.

It's pretty weird. If you want to try the same trick at home, take unflavored full-fat yogurt (the sour kind, or as the box puts it, "tangy") and mix in a cheese powder packet from mac'n'cheese. While we used Annie's, I'm thinking Kraft would be very, very similar.

use Greek yogurt
Greek yogurt gives you the yogurt texture (excellent for mac&cheese) without the yogurt tang.
