When I had my serious motorcycle accident, almost two years ago now, many of you were wonderful enough to loan books and books-on-tape to me. It was a wonderful gesture, and very much appreciated. You guys rock.

However, I still *have* a number of these items, which I have not yet returned to you. My rockin'-ness is more variable.

I know that at the very least, vito_excalibur and katharos have loaned me stuff that I haven't returned. There are more of you, whose names are right now escaping me, or whose stuff I don't immediately associate with your names. Mea culpa.

I'd like to put out an open call to anybody who loaned me stuff to take it back - specifically, let's schedule where/when I should show up and I'll happily meet you for food or activity and bring the objects you were so good as to loan me.

Thank you all. I may post a more detailed list of books and tapes, if anybody thinks that's a useful thing. Best wishes all 'round, to all of you.

I think Kenneth and I loaned/gave you some books and graphic novels, though we didn't expect them to be returned, 'cause you know, they are books.

But I am sure we would love to see you and if we get books in the process, we won't mind.

Sounds good. I'm in favor. Let me figure out my schedule for this upcoming week, but there should be a chance to do that.

Or I can do lunch pretty much whenever, but I don't know what either of your schedules are like for that.

Hey, does that mean that you found my copy of The Wind Up Bird and the two Boy Inventor's ... books? Happy to get together for Sushi some time, although preferably somewhere non-fancy where we can bring Rebecca. Or we can leave her home.
Noahangelbob on July 16th, 2006 05:25 am (UTC)
Hm. I've found the two Boy Inventors books, and on Haruki Murukami -- but it's "Hard Boiled Wonderland and the end of the World". I'll keep looking for "The Wind Up Bird."

Sushi sounds good. Non-fancy also sounds good. I can talk to the girl about timing on Tuesday, or we can do Wednesday, or some time next week.

Oh, that's probably it then, I remember I brought two Haruki Murukami and you only kept one, I must be confused about which.

Tuesday would be good, Wednesday would be manageable. Where on the peninsula is convenient for you now?
Noahangelbob on July 17th, 2006 03:59 pm (UTC)
Excellent. Tuesday would be lovely.

I'll be coming from Redwood City, the fiancee (she's got time and is worth getting a proper chance to meet :-P ) will be coming from Fremont, so pick something as you like and we'll figure it out :-P

Hmm. Well, I was going to suggest Midori if I had the baby, since it's familiar to me and close to our house, but I think I won't have the baby, and I remember something about you, or maybe it was someone else, having a bad experience there and not wanting to go back... So, we could go to Shiki Sushi which is next door, or Sushi O Sushi at Bowers & El Camino (also close to us), or we could go closer to you - to Mountain View for Tomi (but make a reservation!) or if Krissy is coming over the Dumbarton Bridge we could go to Akasaka in Menlo Park. Or, you know, wherever. :-) 7:30ish?
Noahangelbob on July 18th, 2006 04:40 pm (UTC)
Actually, I've never had a problem with Midori -- they're good, and (not that it matters today) open late.

7:30ish would be great. Let's do that.

Ok, groovy.

If you still have no opinion, I'd probably rather go to Midori.
