I need to stop saying to myself, "and this will be the evening I catch up on sleep and don't have to do anything specific". It's the kiss of death. Every time I do, interesting media will arrive on my doorstep, or somebody will have a personal emergency and need to talk.
Yesterday I had four hours I'd set aside after the Chiropractor's appointment and before getting to bed at a reasonable hour, so naturally both things happened.
I am, at least, better-slept than yesterday. That's not saying much.
