Electricians are doing their stuff at my house. The main panel was replaced yesterday, there should be a fully-functioning and inspected subpanel today, and shortly thereafter we should have lots of circuits and outlets and similar goodness. Plus an extra 50-amp circuit for the hot tub.

Now we just lay a concrete slab, clean the house, and we're back to the hot tub being as simple to fix as I thought it would be when I bought the house. Maybe.

But hey, my house will now have a nice modern 200-amp electrical system instead of the 1955 roughly-standard one I got it with. And the electricians seem orderly and competent, which is a fine change from the last group of contractors.

For those of you in the LA area: La Fondue will be opening a new restaurant in Orange County in August of this year. The one in Saratoga is absolutely lovely. I expect the new one will be as well. You guys win.

Another week, another Brezsny:

Dunno. I kinda like the one where I stand on an overpass and scream a dirty limerick into the wind. Maybe I could make my prayer provocative that way, and make sure to use the right rhyme scheme :-)

On something like a dare, I once wrote ominous H.P. Lovecraft limericks about evil entities beyond the ken of mankind. I could probably do a provocative prayer at least as easily. Wish I could find those limericks. They weren't great, but I had a really good back-of-the-book spiel to go with the supposed "book of lost Lovecraft limericks". The spiel ended with something like, "yes, that's right, this is the book you've heard called 'Nantuckethotep'".

Some days, Pixar-Tom is a really good influence on me :-)

And on the topic of Brezsny, a poem posted to his site, with an excerpt first...

Thanks to them, from whom the awful teachings ooze,
We are waking up.

Their wars and tortures,
their devils and borders,
extinctions of species
and brand new diseases,
their spying and lying
in the name of the father,
sterilizing seeds and
trademarking water,
stealing our dreams and
changing our names,
their brilliant commercials,
their endless rehearsals
for the end of the world.

Bacardi 151 has several sizes of bottle. The medium-sized one is contoured for use as a hip flask.

Because what the world needs, of course, is more sippin' beverages that can strip paint.
