A fun little teaching technique...
A fellow on why his favorite professor was a liar, purposefully and deviously.

Neat article.

Hmm. Now that's a good idea.

I've already been offering extra in-class points for catching any mistakes I make (and then deliberately adding something wrong, just to see if the class is awake)... but this is a lovely idea.

a geophysics prof of mine once inerted a mistake into a proof and, when nobody caught him, walked the room examining our class notes to see if we'd written it down.

my notebook did not hold the mistake - i'd written it correctly, but didn't notice the difference between his proof and mine. however, the thing that really caught his attention was all my margin doodles of his head on a snake's body.

i was mortified. he simply put my notes back on my desk. then, he placed a finger on a particularly foul drawing and growled "remarkable likeness."

the first time i saw/heard Severus Snape in HP&SS i almost laughed my ass off!

Holy fuck, that's brilliant.
