Like a shaggy dog joke, but...
I had an odd moment a bit ago. I choose to relate it behind a cut.

I was creating a new City of Heroes character. That happens a lot, the Character Creator is awesome. To coordinate starting tasks with another (human) player, I was creating a character of Natural origin. That can mean "no superpowers, just training", but it can also mean "your character is some natural species, terrestrial or alien, that can just do things like that." Since I was creating a character that did things ordinarily people didn't, I thought, "hey, I'll make an alien."

There aren't many really non-human hero models, so I wound up creating a purple-skinned reptilian biped. Fair enough.

I made many "last son of Repton" jokes to myself (think Superman, "last son of Krypton", and that I'm a dork). Then I decided to play it a little straighter, and gave him a name, "Herald of Procyon", that would mean something on the face of it. I gave him a short backstory about his name being pronounced vaguely like "Harold" and Procyon being closer and in the same direction he came from, to give the name an alternate meaning. I also mentioned awkwardness at group diplomatic dinners for unexpected alien ambassadors, because I'm like that.

I gave him a black-and-white, very "alien tech" sort of helmet, scoops on the sides, blank faceplate with a cool-looking red targeting scope over one eye. Pretty, in a "silly pulp/comic" sort of way. Big white "advanced tech" gloves, also black-and-white. I made him short, but build very wide and with big clawed feet. It was nice, and looked easily alien enough that I got the visual feel I was hoping for.

And significantly after I'd done all this, I realized that in attempting to play it straight, I had created one huge phallic joke. That's right - I created a character who was a one-eyed helmeted lizard. And I swear, it wasn't on purpose.

This is all behind a cut because it's silly, and about City of Heroes, though you don't have to know much about CoH to find it humorous. Or like I'm a humongous dork. Or both, we're "and" people, not "or" people.

I think that that's a big part of the power of Wonder Woman - she's going to go out and kick down bad guys in a bathing suit. She's confident, not afraid of how some guy is going to see her.

The Fight Against Gravity
Also, I have never in my life worn a more comfortable top than a black leather corset. One can be designed and worn to support your chest without crushing your waist. They can be difficult to find, but I've tried them on.

It does bother me that there weren't more body type/clothing options in City of Heroes,
