I *might* have spent most of today (and last night) reading the new Harry Potter book. No spoilers, but... It's good. I like it. The author avoided a really stupid thing that I was afraid was going to happen.

I liked the new Willy Wonka movie as well - it's a completely different vision of the character and the story, and the music interludes are a bit jarring, but I still quite like it. And Christopher Lee was brilliantly chosen for his role.

You mean this?
Noahangelbob on July 20th, 2005 10:14 pm (UTC)
Nope. I was afraid of a particular plot point being a tired, bad retread of something that happened in an earlier HP book - all indicators were pointing that way for a bit.

hmm, I'm on page 292 now and I think I know which plot point you mean...

Were you as shocked by the last 100ish pages as I was? I finished the book... went back and read the last 100 again... and then closed the book... fairly dumbfounded.

*taps veins*
Can I order book 7 yet?

Please make a spoilers post so I can figure out what you are talking about here.

Also, so we can discuss theories of what will happen in the next book.

Christopher Lee did indeed rock, although I was disappointed there wasn't a Princess Bride reference thrown in somewhere. Then again, the Spinal Tap moment was priceless.

Ooh, I missed that - which was the Spinal Tap reference?

I ::heart:: Johnny. And Tim Burton. And Roald Dahl. But most especially Johnny Depp. ::purr::

Unfortunately, she didn't avoid the stupid thing I was afraid of. *sigh*

We'll have to compare at some point.

I might'v just spent every not-at-work-hour during the last day and a half doing the same thing... but I'm not quite sure what you mean by that.

And Omgosh, the Chocolate factory movie is out?! O_o;; Seriously?? I really, really want to see that ~ thanks!
